Hi, I'm sheldon
I was raised near the lakeshore, but now live in Grand Rapids with my husband, Jared, and dog, Louie. Jared and I got married in 2023, and being a bride myself was a formative experience when it came to shaping my photography approach. I graduated from Calvin University and now teach 6th grade math and Bible. I love a good cup of iced coffee, historical fiction, and my favorite 3 comfort shows: New Girl, Gilmore Girls, and Friends. I am excited to meet you!
Outside of teaching and photography, I love to spend time with my friends and family, playing games, going to concerts, walking my dog, shopping, going to coffee shops, and exploring Grand Rapids.

It might sound silly, but one of my favorite compliments to receive from a bride is "I didn't even know you were there!" My job is not to run a giant photoshoot, it is to quietly capture the joy of a wedding day. To not interfere, but to give you the space you need to be present. Your wedding day should not revolve around photography— my photography should revolve around you, your values, and your enjoyment of your wedding day.
